What to Do About a Monotone Story


In a previous life, I used to coach salespeople on their stories. They would work on a story and then stand in front of the room and tell it followed by a critique and review of what was working and what wasn't.I'll never forget one man -- an older gentleman, a former physician -- as he stood in front of the room and told his story. I have never hear a monotone delivery before or since. I swear his voice didn't range a vocal centimeter.
