Creating Culture with Storytelling
Studies show that parents and family members who share their family’s history with their children raise more emotionally happy children.
Why? Because knowing where their family comes from gives the child a sense of belonging and control. Because they know where their family started and how it came to be what it is today. They have a sense of history, of belonging.
The same is true in business.
Employees feel more connected and happier when they know about the history of their company. The ups, the downs and where it all started. More importantly, knowing how the company faced adversity and lived to tell about it, they know the company can weather the storm. These stories - this sense of history - is the same for employees as it is for the kids, knowing their culture gives employees that sense of belonging. In this video, I’ll talk to you about the importance of creating culture not only in your businesses, but also in your family.
